
Q: How much driving experience is required?
A: We currently require 9 months of verifiable recent Over-the-Road (OTR) experience (See our Qualifications)
Q: What type of trucks do you run?
A: We run primarily late-model Freightliner Cascadia’s. All are automatic and come equipped with Flat Screen TV, Microwave, Refrigerator, Inverter and Free Sirius XM Radio package.
Q: Do you have cameras in your trucks?
A: Safety is our highest priority at Barr-Nunn. Barr-Nunn has cameras in each of our trucks. These cameras are outward facing, front and side view, and they do not record sound.
Q: Do you have forced dispatch?
A: Barr-Nunn does business with an elite group of customers that require 98% + on time pickup and delivery service. A high percentage of this scheduled freight. We expect our drivers to service the freight they are assigned if they are rested, their equipment has no issues, they have the hours available to complete the load and there are no adverse weather conditions that compromise safety. Safety is our highest priority at Barr-Nunn.
Q: What bonuses does Barr-Nunn offer their drivers?
CSA Safety Bonus: every 90 days drivers can earn between $700 and $1025 along with 1 day of Paid Time Off by having no citations, preventable accidents or failing to call in an accident (preventable or non-preventable).
On Road Safety Bonus: every 90 days drivers can earn $600 by not having any on road preventable accidents or failing to call in any accidents (preventable or non-preventable).
Anniversary Bonus: for every year employed with Barr-Nunn drivers earn $100 the pay period after their anniversary date.
Driver Referral Bonus: drivers can earn 4 additional CSA Safety, On Road Bonuses and 4 days of Paid Time Off along with additional money by referring drivers who are hired and stay with Barr-Nunn.
Q: How do I earn pay raises at Barr-Nunn?
A: You earn pay raises at Barr-Nunn by being safe. Regional solo drivers earn Safety Pay increases every 20,000 safe paid miles. OTR solo drivers earn Safety Pay increases every 40,000 safe paid miles. Each pay raise is ½ cent per mile up to each fleets high pay cap.
Q: In what part of the country do you operate?
A: Barr-Nunn primarily operates in the Northeast and Midwest. We do operate some in the southeast in states such as TN, NC, SC, GA and FL.
Q: What mileage package do you pay from?
A: Barr-Nunn pays Practical Mileage using Rand McNally MileMaker©. Practical Mileage is a more realistic mileage than the Household Goods (HHG) mileage paid by some other carriers.

Q: Do you have driving simulators at your terminals?
A: Yes, we currently utilize driving simulators at 2 of our 4 terminals during Orientation and for ongoing safety training with our drivers.
Q: Do you offer paid vacation?
A: Yes, Barr-Nunn offers Paid Time Off (PTO) to its employees. The method for earning PTO differs based on the type of job. Please search for positions in your area or contact us for details.
Q: Do you have a rider program, and what is the cost?
A: Solo drivers may have one rider at a time, age 10 and up, and there is no cost.
Q: Where do your drivers fuel?
A: We use a fuel network primarily comprised of Pilot/Flying J, Loves, TA, and Petro truck stops.
Q: Do you authorize tolls and how do I pay for them?
A: Trucks are equipped with ElitePass transponders to cover authorized toll expenses.
Q: Do I have to unload freight? How much of your freight is drop and hook?
A: No, we are a 100% no-touch freight operation. About 85% is drop and hook trucking.
Q: Do you allow pets in your trucks?
A: We allow Team Drivers to have one small dog (rules and restrictions apply).
Q: How do your drivers submit paperwork?
A: You can submit via Smart Phone/Tablet app, or via truck stop scanning.
Q: Do your drivers have to have a Hazmat Endorsement?
A: No, Hazmat is NOT a requirement.
